RS232 to RS422/485 Converter
Isolated RS-422/485 Repeater
RS232 to RS422/RS485 Converter
The Resite-8521 Converter allows RS-232 devices to be connected to one RS- 485 bus. The RS-232 devices can be addressable and non-addressable("dumb") devices. For non-addressable RS-232 devices, you can communicate to each de-vice transparently one at a time with built-in intelligence in the Resite-8521 Con- verter.

General Operation
On the converter there are three red LED indicators. The red LED labeled TXD flashes when the converter is transmitting (sending out to your RS232 device) data. The red LED labeled RXD flashes when data is being received from the RS232 device. The green LED labeled DC turns on when the Converter is powered on.
To communicate to specific RS232 device through the Converter with address "A", a command OpenA will allocate the RS485 link and connect the host to the device transparently. And the command CloseA will relea- se the RS485 link and disconnect the host from the RS232 device. All the commands are case-sensitive and no space.
Communications
The Resite-8521 Converter communicates at 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no handsh- aking. There is no delay or buffering through this Converter. All data that is sent from the host after Open com- mand will be passed through to the RS-232 device.
Setup
Troubleshooting
Make sure that the wiring are right by make both end of the RS485 address as "0";
Make sure that the cable hooked up to right end. The 8 pin male goes to the RS232 device or modem.
